NAD + and NADP +: nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD +, coenzyme I) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP +,coenzyme II, which is an oxidized form of NADPH). NAD + and NADP + act mainly as coenzymes of dehydrogenases, acting as hydrogen
donators in enzymatic reactions. NADPH is often used as a biosynthetic reductant and does not directly enter the respiratory chainfor oxidation. Only under the action of a special enzyme, H on NADPH is transferred to NAD + and then enters the respiratory chainas NADH.
NADPH is formed at the photosynthetic photoreaction stage, enters the carbon reaction together with ATP, and participates in thefixation of CO2.
